WHAT TO DO WHEN THE MACHINE DETECTS A FERROUS METAL

When a ferrous metal enters between the front feed rolls, the alarm and its light come on, the feed rolls stop within 

1/20 of a second and the transmission is  automatically switched to NEUTRAL. When this happens, follow this 

procedure:
1. A slow intermittent ”BEEP” should be heard. Iobilize the tractor and reduce the motor’s RPM.
2. The transmission should shift to NEUTRAL.
3. Stop the PTO and switch off tractor engine.
4. Engage parking brake and block the equipment wheels.
5. Remove the tractor ignition key and keep it with you.
6. Wait for complete mechanism to stop.
7. Manually remove the material inside the attachment (the metal that caused the problem is not in this section of

the machine).

8. Manually rotate the feed rolls, in reverse. The metal piece(s) should be found in this section of the machine. If

this is not the case, the piece(s) of metal may have fallen to the ground, between the two lower feed rolls.

9. Initialize the metal detector as shown in page 95.
