PROCEDURE FOR CHANGING THE CUTTING

LENGTH - FIGURE 202

1. Open the mechanical section guard.
2. Completely remove the chain tension (item 2) by re-

moving the lock fork and loosening the nut (item 4)

on the tightener.

3. Remove the double chain.
4. Remove the cutting length double sprocket (item

1) by removing the spring clip (item 6) and washer

(item 7).

5. Apply “Never Seize” on the shaft and install the

double sprocket according to the number of teeth

shown on the chart above). Put back the washer

(item 7) and spring clip (item 6).

6. Adjust the chain length and install chain back in.

NOTE

: Make sure the chain is properly wound around

the tightening wheel. Otherwise, it could jam in

place.

7. Re-tighten the chain (item 2) making sure to re-

place the rubber washers (item 5) as shown and by

tightening the nut (item 4) on the tightener (item 3).

8. Tighten according to specifications above.

NOTE

: The roller chain (item 2) has been set up to fit

either a 17-tooth or 26-tooth double sprocket.

NOTE

: The 34-tooth sprocket and the roller chain exten-

sion are included in the Forage Harvester tool

box.
