ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS - DRAW BAR EXTENSION
Follow these instructions to install a cat. II draw bar
extension:
1. Insert shims (items 1 and 2) inside extension (item
3). Insert extension with shim inside the draw bar
(item 4). You need at least the thickness of one shim
(item 2) to clear the bolt head.
2. Insert bolt (item 6) through the extension as shown
below. Insert bolt (item 6) inside the plate (item 5).
Insert the spring (item 7) and nut (item 8) on bolt
(item 6). Leave enough motion to lock the pin (item
9).
3. Insert pin (item 9) with a spring pin (item 10) inside
extension (item 3) and lock with plate (item 5). If the
hole in the draw bar is too large, insert a bushing
(item 13) in the hole to reduce the clearance with
the pin (item 9).
4. Screw nuts (item 12) on bolts (item 11) and then
screw bolts (item 11) on both sides of the extension
(item 3) as shown below.
5. Center the extension (item 3) with the draw bar (item
4). To center side to side, use the bolts (item 11).
6. Insert pin (item 14) and lock with the safety pin (item
15). Note that items 14 and 15 are not supplied by
the manufacturer.
7. Install the safety chain (item 16) between the trac-
tor frame and the Forage Harvester. Refer to page
76 for more information on how to install the safety
chain.
