4.2 Installation of connections Operating Instructions DAC Universal
● Permanent water connection.
The DAC Universal is connected to a permanent water conditioning
system. NitraDem Direct Connect is recommended as water supply
for the DAC Universal.
● Manual filling of the water tank with demineralized / distilled water,
see "Filling the water tank [ → 56]".
4.2.3.1 Permanent water connection
The following must be observed when connecting the DAC Universal to a
permanent water supply:
To operate the DAC Universal with a water conditioning unit, it must be
switched to "Automatic water supply". This is done via the menu system,
see "Menu system. [ → 65]".
If you use a permanent water supply and have not installed a siphon,
please empty the drain tank once a day or whenever it is full, see
"Removing and cleaning the drain tank [ → 113]".
4.2.3.2 Manual filling of the water tank
If no permanent water connection is selected, the integrated water tank
must be filled with water manually.
See "Filling the water tank [ → 56]" for the procedure.
4.2.4 Drain connection
The DAC Universal works only in a one-way water system, i.e. used water
(waste water) is not reused.
Therefore, the "Drain" connection on the back of the DAC Universal must
be connected either to:
● a drain tank, see "Connecting the drain tank [ → 43]" or
● a siphon, see "Connecting the siphon [ → 44]"
IMPORTANT
Observe local requlations for backflow protection when connecting the
DAC Universal to permanent water supply. According to EN1717 an air
gap is required as backflow protection of what EN1717 specifies as
being Category 5 fluids.
NOTICE
A water filter (20 µm) must be installed upstream of the DAC Universal
to ensure that the water is clean.
NOTICE
Do not start a cycle if the DAC Universal is not connected to the drain
tank or drainage system.
