When the alarm sound measurement is complete, the result will be displayed as in Figure 95.
5.14 Alarm Sound Level - Outside
In addition to the alarm sounds inside the incubator, alarms generated by the incubator must
be loud enough to be heard by care givers outside of the incubator. Figure 96 shows the
instruction screen for the outside alarm. The alarm sounds outside of the incubator are taken
at a distance of 3 meters from the front of the incubator at a height of 1.5 meters above the
floor, as defined in the Standard clause 201.9.6.2.1.102. The Sound Sensor is unplugged from
the
Puck
in the incubator and removed from the Baby Compartment. The
Sound Sensor
can then be plugged into an extension cable to allow it to be moved around outside the
incubator. The
Sensor
is then placed at the position defined by the Standard. An alarm is
activated on the incubator and the
OK
button is clicked.
