To determine the Warm-up Time set the Control Temperature (in Air Controlled Incubator mode)
to 12 °C above Ambient Temperature (
AT
).
AT
will be measured at the start of the test and the Incubator Temperature (
IT
) will be monitored
until the IT is 11 °C above AT . The software will calculate the Warm-up Time as the time required
to make the 11 °C transition.
Cold Ambient temperature at 36 °C
As per clause 201.12.1.113 of the standard, the transport incubator is set to Air Control and
connected to an external power source. Once STC is established at an ambient temperature within
the range of 21 °C to 25 °C and at a control temperature of 36 °C, it is disconnected from the
external power source and transferred to an environment where the ambient temperature is between
-7 °C and -3 °C and the wind velocity is no more that 1 m/s. After 15 minutes it is returned to an
environment where the ambient temperature lies within the range of 20 to 25 °C and reconnected
to an external power supply and operated for a further 30 minutes. The incubator temperature shall
not differ from the control temperature by more than 3 °C.
Air Temperature Control Regulation Error (ACTRE)
Clause 201.12.1.106 of the standard states that when configured as an Air Controlled Transport
Incubator, the Average Transport Incubator Temperature shall not differ from the Control
Temperature by more than ±2 °C at an ambient temperature of between 10 °C and 20 °C and by
not more than ±1.5°C at an ambient temperature of between 20 °C and 30 °C when the control
temperature is set to 36 °C.
Air Temperature Control High
According to the Standard, the ability of the transport incubator to heat to a specific temperature
and maintain that temperature must be tested at a high and a low temperature. For the high
temperature level, the Standard recommends 36 °C, however, vPad-TI will allow testing at other
temperatures. For the purposes of this manual this will be referred to as
Control Temperature
