5.12 Temperature Overshoot
It is inevitable that, during operation at STC , a care giver will be required to open a portal or a door
in the incubator and the incubator will lose temperature. The Standard prescribes how the incubator
should be able to recover from this problem in the
Temperature Overshoot test in section 8,
clause 50.109. To simulate the problem described above, the incubator is operated at 32 °C until
STC is reached (Figure 87). Once the temperature reaches STC (60 min+) at 30 °C the program
prompts the user to set the Control Temperature to 36 °C degrees, and the Incubator
Temperature is monitored (see Figure 88).
