5.13 Alarm Sound Level - Inside
The alarm sounds generated by an incubator have the potential to damage the infant’s hearing if they
are too loud. The Standard defines in clause 201.9.6.2.1.103, that an alarm sound measured at a
height of 10 - 15 cm above the center of the mattress must not exceed 80 dBA. Following the
instruction screen of Figure 96, the
Sound Sensor
is placed on the central Puck, held in place with
the magnetic fasteners.
Once in place, an alarm is initiated by the user. The alarm can be generated in any manner the user
sees fit. While the alarm is sounding, click on the
OK
button to take the measurement. While the
alarm sound is processed, a progress indicator screen is displayed.
