k.Air is a pre-programmed controller for air conditioning and ventilation units.
k.Air ensures simple commissioning, application fl exibility, advanced connectivity and usability, thanks to the following features:
• preloaded confi gurations of air handling units, confi guration tool or manual procedure;
• modular concept for the management of additional confi gurations by coupling together c.pCOe expansion modules via a
built-in serial card;
• management of high-effi
ciency direct expansion units
• application of energy saving and adiabatic humidifi cation management algorithms;
• advanced connectivity, thanks to three serial ports and an Ethernet port, certifi ed Bacnet protocol and remote control via
tERA.
• integrated web server interface.
k.Air is available in two sizes: mini P/N P+DA00FHD*FK and large P/N P+5A00SFC*LK. Both models share the same software
functions, however they diff er in terms of the number and characteristics of the available inputs/outputs and serial communi-
cation ports.
The number of inputs/outputs can be expanded using up to 4 c.pCOe expansion modules.

It is possible to connect CAREL temperature and humidity probes, active diff erential pressure probes, fl ow switches and ther-
mostats, with control functions or to signal alarms in the event of a fault.
The application off ers numerous pre- set basic unit confi gurations (I/O map and related associated functions); if the unit being
confi gured deviates from these models (e.g. if the devices are connected to a diff erent input/output or the unit has other devices
and functions), the software can be reconfi gured on the PGDE display or using the confi guration tool.

Summary of main functions:
• parameter setting by level, user, installer or manufacturer, with password-protected access;
• temperature control with diff erent set points based on the operating mode (Economy, PreComfort, Comfort and/or cooling
or heating);
• set point compensation with outside temperature probe;
• selection of daily time bands with corresponding operating mode;
• holiday and special day function;
• cascade control of heating/cooling devices in order to maximise energy savings (up to 6 devices);
• dehumidifi cation by cooling coil (with dew point control) and reheating;
• control with 0- 10 V input for humidifi er or Modbus connection for CAREL humiSonic and humifog humidifi ers;
• “freecooling” and “freeheating” based on the temperature;
• heat recovery with cross-fl ow or thermal wheel;
• air quality control with CO2 probe;
• safety functions for frost protection, no air fl ow, humidifi er alarm, etc.;
• heat recovery defrost from digital input;
• independent auxiliary control loop, with PI control algorithm and control probe;
• confi guration wizard;
• confi guration of inputs/outputs from PGDE terminal with free mapping on the main board, expansions and serial probes;
• input/output test to verify correct wiring during installation;
• manual mode to manually control each device during normal operation.
• Two- circuit direct expansion units with On/Off and/or BLDC compressors using the main board and unipolar driver (k.water
mini) or via serial connection to uChiller.
• Customisable maintenance plan based on VDI 6022-1.
