2. Select one of the following track groups:
• Audio+MIDI—If you choose this track group, U-8 faders 1-4
control audio tracks 1-4, and U-8 faders 5-8 control the first
four MIDI tracks. Always choose Audio+MIDI when you
work with the U-8 Mixer. That way, the U-8 faders 5-8
control the Mixer’s white input faders. U-8’s red Master fader
controls the Mixer’s red master fader.
• Audio 1-8—If you choose this track group, U-8 faders 1-8
control audio tracks 1-8. Always choose Audio 1-8 when you
work with the EZ Recording Wizard. That way, all the U-8
Track Status buttons function to show if a track is armed or
muted.
• MIDI 1-8—If you choose this track group, U-8 faders 1-8
control the first eight MIDI tracks.
• MIDI 9-16—If you choose this track group, U-8 faders 9-16
control the second eight MIDI tracks.
After you select a track group, display U-8’s StudioWare panel (press
the Window button if the panel is not visible), move U-8’s faders, and
confirm that the correct faders move in the StudioWare panel. If you
open a new, empty project, only audio track 1ís fader will respond at
startup. As soon as you activate a track by naming it or adding
properties to it, its fader will respond.
To Choose and Execute a Menu Command…
1. Press U-8’s Menu button and then press the right or left Cursor
button to highlight the Cakewalk menu you want to open.
2. When you reach the correct menu, press the U-8 Enter button to
open the menu.
3. Press the down Cursor button to highlight the menu item you
want to use.
4. Press Enter again to execute the menu item.
5. In the menu item’s dialog box, use the up and down Cursor
buttons to highlight the field you want to change.
6. Use the right and left Cursor buttons to choose items in the
selected field.
7. When you’ve made all your changes, press Enter to close the
dialog box and activate your changes.
