When mounting the electric pilot-flame pre-heater on the
engine, the fuel pipeline running from the fuel injection pump to the
solenoid valve should be connected with due allowance made for di-
rection indicated by the arrow punched on the valve body. Secure the
glow plugs with locknuts. Fasten the solenoid valve thoroughly, and
reliably tighten up the joints of fuel pipelines. Check and, if necessary,
tighten up all the electric connection, and make sure that the plug con-
nectors are mated reliably.

Having installed the pilot-flame pre-heater, bleed its fuel
system and check it for sealing. To this end, run the engine, push the
pre-heater switch-in button and keep the button pushed for 30 s, begin-
ning from the moment when the pilot lamp flashes on. No leakage of
fuel through the joints is permissible.

Check the serviceability of the pilot-flame pre-heater elec-
tric circuit.
That checking includes the inspection of plugs pre-heating and
heating of plugs through the resistor when the engine run is accompa-
nied by operation of the pilot-flame pre-heater. The preheating of plugs
is to be judged by the current and voltage supplied to the plugs. The
current should be about 23 A, voltage - about 19 V.
Make sure the generator unit automatically switched-off during
operation of the pilot-flame pre-heater. If the current and voltage of the
plugs are the same as during of preliminary heating, it means that gen-
erator unit is switched-off automatically.
ATTENTION!
IF IT IS NECESSARY TO REPLACE ONE PLUG,
REPLACE BOTH PLUGS SIMULTANEOUSLY.
