same sequence. The next heating of the plug is recommended to
begin in 20-25 seconds after the end of the previous attempt of
engine starting.
After installation of the pilot-flame pre-heater on the engine or
after a long-term interval in operation, it is necessary to prime the fuel
system. For this purpose push the pre-heater switch button when the
engine is running and keep it depressed for about 30 seconds after the
signal lamp flashes.
The failed plugs should not be subjected to repair.
THE CONTROL OF POWER UNIT RUN
With engine running, observe the indications of its instruments
and signalling systems:

The temperature of the engine coolant must range within
75-90º
C. Short-term (up to 10 min.) increase of the temperature
up to 95º C is allowable. At using of the motor oils of higher
viscosity as M5/14

) (SAE 10W/40) it is permitted the lim-
iting temperature 95ºC and the short-term temperature (up to 10
min.) – 100ºC.
After starting and before the loading, the engine is
to be warmed up, first at the idling speed up to 40-50
º
C of coolant
temperature, and then at a small load - up to operation temperature.
The full-load operation of the cold engine is not allowable.
Do not
admit the engine run under full load at coolant temperature be-
low 50º
C, as in this case the fuel combustion worsens greatly,
the products of partial combustion are condensed on cylinder
liners walls, sharply increases the wear of cylinders and of pis-
ton rings, and the fuel economy of the engine decreases. The in-
dication of the engine readiness to accept the load is its reaction
to the variations in fuel supply.

The oil pressure in the block channel of warmed-up engine
should be within 370-590 kPa (3,8-6,0 kgf/cm
2
) at rated speed
and not less than 50 kPa (0,5 kgf/cm
2
) at minimum speed. After
long operation of the engine the decreasing of oil pressure not
below than 300 kPa (3,0 kfg/cm
2
) is allowable at nominal speed
and not below than 50 kPa (0,5 kgf/cm
2
) at the minimal idle
speed.

If during the engine run the oil filter contamination signal
lamp is flashing, it is necessary to replace filtering elements.
The engine operation with faulty filtering elements is not al-
lowed
