3. Fully immerse device to keep it submerged in the solution per detergent instruction label.
3.1. During the soak time thoroughly clean the device for a minimum of 30 seconds with
a soft bristled M16 style brush until all visible soil is removed.
3.2. Flush the airway tube with a minimum of 20 ml of prepared detergent.
3.3. Use a soft bristle lumen brush to clean the airway tube for a minimum of 15 seconds.
4. Rinse the device for one minute with running utility (tap) water.
4.1. During the rinse, flush the airway tube with a minimum of 20 ml of utility (tap) water.
5. Dry the device with a clean lint free cloth and compressed air.
Automated Cleaning Procedure
1. Rinse device under running cold utility (tap) water for a minimum of 2 minutes to remove
visible soil.
2. Transfer the device onto the 4–Level manifold rack accessory (or other appropriate rack
system) contained inside the washer for processing.

After automated washing the device must be removed from the washer and dried with a soft clean
cloth. The lumen must be dried using filtered pressurized air.
5.1.2. Sterilization instruction
The only recommended sterilization method is steam autoclaving. Strictly adhere to the following
validated instruction to ensure proper sterilization and to prevent damage.
The manual vent must be in open position. The Ambu® Aura40 should be placed in an appropriate
steam autoclave-proof bag before steam autoclaving. Ensure that the pack is large enough to
contain the device without stressing the seals.
