Creating a Directory

Press the
Make Directory
soft key. The Make Directory dialog box opens.

Turn the
rotary knob
to select the destination in which the directory will be created.
By default, the destination directory is set to the internal hard disk. To create a
directory at the root directory of the internal hard disk, check that the Selection
box in the Make Directory dialog box shows “/”, do not carry out this step (the
operation of selecting the directory to be created), and proceed to step 5.
To distinguish directory names from file names, a slash (/) is attached to the end of
directory names.

Press
SELECT
twice quickly. The Selection box in the Make Directory dialog
box shows “/directory name”. The file list display area shows the data in the
selected directory.

Press
SELECT
. The cursor moves to the entry box.

Enter the directory name using
numeric keys & ENTER
.
To cancel the selection of the directory in which the new directory will be created or the
entered directory name, press
RESET
. When cancelled, the cursor moves to the file
list display area.
7.
Press
SELECT
. A directory with the specified name is created.
Indicates the directory of the file shown. The display here does
not change even if you change the directory to be shown.
To move to a higher level directory, select here and
then press the SELECT key twice quickly.
If you select compact/ (or usbmem/) and press the SELECT key twice
quickly, the data on the CF card (or USB memory) is displayed.
File list display area
Selection display
Displays the selected directory name.
In the case of the top directory of the
internal hard disk, a slash (/) is
displayed. In the case of the CF card,
/compact is displayed. In the case of
the USB memory, /usbmem is
displayed.
Entry box
Displays the directory or file name
selected using the rotary knob. You
can also enter the file name.
