The format of a response that is sent back from the FA-M3 to a higher-level computer
(or display) is shown here. For more details, see the “Personal Computer Link
Command” manual (IM34M6P41-01E).
(1) If communications is normal

If communications is successful, the character string “OK” and the command response
are returned.
The checksum and ending character (CR) are automatically appended only if the
checksum feature and ending character feature are enabled respectively.
(2) If a communications error occurs

If a communications error or a command error occurs, or if the CPU module of the
FA-M3 returns an error, the character string “ER” and two error codes (2 hexadecimal
characters, EC1 and EC2) are returned.
EC1: Error code
(See Table A2.8)
EC2: Detailed error code
(valid only if EC1 is 03, 04, 05, 08, 41 or 52. See Table A2.9)
- If an invalid CPU number is specified, the CPU number (2 bytes) received by the
module is returned as the CPU number.
- If STX or the station number is not correctly received, no response is returned.
If ETX (End of Text) is not received, a response may not be returned so always
perform timeout processing in the higher-level computer or display. Some displays
and higher-level equipment may also allow the number of retries to be specified
(see their respective manuals for details).
