8-10 – Troubleshooting
Shadows appear around areas of solid black printing.
•
The media may have been unpacked and left out for a long
period of time (especially in a low humidity area) or may be
otherwise damaged. Replace the media, making sure it meets
the requirements in chapter 6 (see “Standard Cassette” or
“Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
White dots appear in areas of solid black printing.
•
Media may not meet printer requirements in chapter 6. If
necessary, replace the media (see “Standard Cassette” or
“Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
•
The toner cartridge may be damaged or need replacing. Replace
the cartridge (see “Removing and Installing the Toner
Cartridge” in chapter 1).
Toner is not fusing completely on output.
•
Media may be damp. If necessary, replace the media, making
sure it meets the requirements in chapter 6 (see “Standard
Cassette” or “Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
•
Media may not meet printer requirements in chapter 6. If
necessary, replace the media (see “Standard Cassette” or
“Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
Some part of the image are not printing.
•
Media may be damp. If necessary, replace the media, making
sure it meets the requirements in chapter 6 (see “Standard
Cassette” or “Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
•
Media may not meet printer requirements in chapter 6. If
necessary, replace the media (see “Standard Cassette” or
“Multipurpose Cassette” in chapter 1).
