3. Read the Reader Welcome window; then, click Next. The Destination Folder
window appears (fig. 3.72).
4. Select the folder in which to install Acrobat Reader. Then, click Next. When the
information Thank You window appears, click OK. The Main Menu reappears.
5. Click Exit when the XANTÉ Utilities Main window reappears.
PDFs Folder
This folder contains the PDF (Printer Description File) for the your printer.
QuarkXPress versions prior to 3.3.2 require these files in addition to the PPD. Use
these PDFs to ensure the highest quality output from your printer and QuarkXPress.
The XANTÉ Utilities Installer loads the QuarkXPress PDF. To load these PDFs
manually
1. Load and configure the Adobe PostScript printer driver and your printer’s PPD
following instructions in “Installing AdobePS Printer Driver and Printer PPD”
earlier in this chapter.
2. Copy the Aw1200_1.PDF from the PDFs folder to the Xpress: PDF directory on
your PC by typing the following command, substituting the drive letter
containing the XANTÉ Utilities CD-ROM for [Drive].
COPY [Drive]:\PDFS\Aw1200_1.PDF C:\XPRESS\PDF

PS_Files Folder
This folder contains Adobe PostScript files to help setup and maintain your printer.
These files can be downloaded to your printer by typing the following DOS
command, substituting the appropriate file name and a different port, if necessary:
COPY FILENAME.PS LPT1

Description.txt contains an overview of the files in the PS_Files folder.
D.ps contains a Control-D (PostScript’s end-of-job marker) for use with applications
that do not send a PostScript end-of-file.
Fonts.ps3 prints a list of Adobe PostScript 3 fonts resident on XANTÉ PostScript 3
printers.
Fontsamp.ps3 prints samples of Adobe PostScript 3 fonts resident on XANTÉ
PostScript 3 printers.
