Refer to page 4-7 for the procedure for servic-
ing the capacitor.
1. Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power.
2. Disconnect the wires from the capacitor
terminals.
3. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1K scale.
4. Touch one of the ohmmeter test leads to
the common (C) terminal and the other
test lead to the FAN and HERM terminals.
5. The meter should indicate several ohms
and gradually return to infinity at both the
FAN & HERM terminals.
CAPACITOR
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
FAN CYCLE SWITCH & REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT FAN SWITCH
Refer to page 4-7 for the procedure for servic-
ing the fan cycle switch, and page 4-8 for the
remote control unit fan switch.
1. Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power.
2. Disconnect the wires from the switch ter-
minals.
3. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale.
4. Clip one of the ohmmeter test leads to the
center (common) terminal and leave it
there.
5. Touch the ohmmeter test leads to pins 1
and 3. Depending on the position of the
rocker pushbutton, the meter should indi-
cate an open (infinite) circuit at one pin,
and a closed (0
Ω
) circuit at the other pin.
6. Press the rocker pushbutton to the other
switch position, and repeat step 5. The
meter readings should be reversed.
