Operation
6.5.5.4 Activation of the "Auto Mode" Function
The "Auto Mode" function is used to automatically set the reception gain and the depth
measuring range. When the function is activated, the reception gain and the depth mea-
suring range are set once to values that provide the best possible display of the echo in
the display area. The reception gain and the depth measuring range can then be
changed again manually.
Activating the "Auto Mode” function
Automatic setting of the depth measuring range functions only in a range between 50
and 200 m. With greater depths (

300), the depth cannot be measured automatically.
In this case, a larger depth measuring range can be set manually

6.5.5.1.
If the depth measuring range has been set using the "Auto Mode" function, the letter “A”
is displayed alongside the maximum value of the depth measuring range.
Proceed as follows to activate the "Auto
Mode" function:
1. Open the menu  6.5.4.1.
2. Select menu item MAIN MENU > Auto
Mode

.
3. Press the [ENTER] key to confirm the
selection.

In 2-channel mode, the larger depth measuring range is set automatically if the two
channels measure different depths.
