ALR (Set Alarm State)
ALR is an NMEA data set for signalling the current alarm status. The data set is used to
signal the alarm status and the current confirmation status. The data set is only transmit-
ted by the
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
.
The data set contains the following information:

Time (UTC) at which the alarm status changed
Alarm ID of the device
The Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200 uses alarms either with the
alarm ID "230" (according to IEC 61924-2) or with the alarm ID "3031" (ac-
cording to IEC 62923-2). The alarm ID can be set in the menu "SYSTEM
SETUP".
Alarm status

A = Alarm limit overrun

V = Alarm limit not overrun
Status of the alarm confirmation
•
A = Confirmed
•
V = Not confirmed

The BAM-compliant sets ALC and ALF should be used instead of ALR. ALR is con-
tained only for reasons of compatibility with older environments.
