Appendix
9.2.3
Calculation of the Source ID for TAG Blocks
The transmission of NMEA data sets must include the source ID in the respective TAG
block.
The source ID of the
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
is calculated from the IP
address of the
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
. The calculation formula is:
AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD : DDD + (256 * (lower 4 bits of CCC + 16 * (LSB of BBB)))
The result lies between 0000 and 9998. The result is prefixed with "SD" (for "Sounder,
Depth").
Figure
9.2 shows an example of the calculation of the source ID. The complete source
ID in the example is "SD4112".

Error Detection and Logging
Each NMEA interface (each serial interface and each of the transmission groups) con-
ducts its own error logging with counter for each error category (Table
9.4). When the
device is switched on, all counters are reset to "0". The error messages and counters are
output via Syslog (multicast IP 239.192.0.254, port 514).
The following Syslog error message codes are used (in accordance with IEC 61162-450,
Table 2):
