Description of the NMEA Data Sets
This section describes the NMEA data sets that can be transmitted or received via the
interfaces of the
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
.
9.3.1
ACK (Acknowledge Alarm)
ACK is an NMEA data set for confirming an alarm signalled by the device. The data set
is only received by the
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
.
The data set contains the following information:

The
Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
transmits alarms either with the alarm
ID "230" (according to IEC 61924-2) or with the alarm ID "3031" (according to
IEC 62923-2) and the alarm title "Depth below keel alarm" without alarm description.
Alarms always have the alarm category "A" and the alarm priority "Alarm".
Alarm commands are not rejected. The data set ARC is not supported.
If "--" is given as talker ID in received data sets, this means that the
Navigation Echo
Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200
accepts any talker IDs.
All NMEA data sets listed below are compliant with IEC 61162-1:2016 / DIN EN 61162-
01:2017-05.

Alarm ID of the device
The Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200 uses alarms either with the
alarm ID "230" (according to IEC 61924-2) or with the alarm ID "3031" (ac-
cording to IEC 62923-2). The alarm ID can be set in the menu "SYSTEM
SETUP".

The BAM-compliant set ACN should be used instead of ACK. ACK is contained only for
reasons of compatibility with older environments.
