Description of the Installation Work

4.3.1

Installation of Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200

The 

Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200

 can be installed in one of the following 

ways:
•

Rail mounting

•

Panel installation

•

Table mounting

•

Suspension from the ceiling 

Proceed as follows to install the Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200::

1. Install the 

Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200

 at the installation location as 

shown in the installation drawing (

9.1 "Applicable Documents").

4.3.2

Installation of Transducer

Precondition:

The preconditions for the transducer installation described in section 

4.2.2 have 

been observed when selecting the installation location.

Proceed as follows to install the transducer:

1. Install the transducer at the installation location as described in the installation in-

structions and shown in the installation drawing (

9.1 "Applicable Documents").

The 

Navigation Echo Sounder ELAC LAZ 5200

 is intended for bridge installation.

WARNING!

Dangerous electrical voltage

Missing and improperly performed earthing can result in dangerous electric shocks and 
in accidents and falls.

When installing the unit, ensure that all the required earthing connections have been 
performed properly.

Never connect the unit to the power supply before all earthing measures have been 
completed. 

CAUTION!

Dangerous electrical voltage

Risk of electric shock from piezoelectric charge at the socket of the transducer. Piezo-
electric charges result from mechanical force acting on the transducer or extreme fluc-
tuations in temperature.

Do not touch the contacts of the socket.

Fit a protective cap to the socket or short-circuit immediately after removing the con-
nector.
