8.1.1. Assumption
✓
Required image size (screen size): 6.5m*1.5m
✓
Watch distance: 2m (pixel pitch should be less than 2mm)
✓
Input signal resolution:
-
Horizontal resolution: 6.5m / 2mm=3250. It means minimum input resolution shall be H >
3250. 3250 is not VESA standard resolution. Therefore, we select 3840 as horizontal
resolution. The ideal vertical resolution is based on screen aspect ratio: 6.5/1.5=4.33:1.
3840/4.33=886. It means 3840*886 is the resolution without image distortion.
-
In actual application, user can select 3840*886 from PC signal source. The media player
and other display playback devices may have no 3840*886 output. User can select
3840*800 (same as projector vertical resolution) or 3840*1080 (or 3840*2160). Once user
set a full screen display in the complete system, user still can see no distortion image.
-
User needs to prepare a content with 4.33:1 aspect ratio to avoid image distortion.
✓
Number of projectors: 3 projectors at 3x1 horizontal position
✓
Projector resolution and lumens. 1280*800 (native resolution), 3200 Lum. GeoBox output
resolution shall be the same as projector native resolution to get the best video quality.
✓
Overlap pixels and dimension. 8 grids=8*32= 256 pixels
✓
Projector throw ratio: 1.2-1.7 (based on projector spec)
8.1.2. Excel calculation
