Software Version Number and Date
If you are requested by Vicon Technical Support to provide the software version number and date, you can
find this information on the bottom of the diagnostics screen. To access this screen, refer to page 51.
Joystick Speed Responses
The “dead window”, or center window, of the joystick defines a center position for which the joystick does not
send receiver commands. This fine tuning is discussed on page 20. During operation, the joystick can be set
to four speeds: very low, low, medium and high. The joystick response curves shown in Figure 16 illustrate the
joystick sensitivity for each speed. For example, for a low speed setting, pan and tilt functions do not reach
half of the full speed until the joystick is deflected around 90%. All speed settings except very low are at full
speed at full deflection.

Cable Recommendations
RS-422 Cabling
Vicon recommends the cables shown in Table
for W-422 connections. As shown in the table, the
appropriate cable depends upon the distance between the RJ45 Termination Box and the RS-422 device.
