Remove a Fan Module

You can perform this procedure while the server is running. See

“Component Service

Categories” on page 49

for more information about hot-service procedures.

Prepare for servicing.

Attach an antistatic wrist strap.

“Prevent ESD Damage” on page 54

Extend the server to the maintenance position.

See

“Extend the Server to the Service Position” on page 55

Open the fan door.

Slide the two green buttons to unlock the fan door, then swing it open.

Identify the faulty fan module with a corresponding Service Required LED.
