WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Voltage is induced at the power connections of the stator segment each time a rotor
segment moves with respect to a stator segment - and vice versa.
When the motor is switched on, the stator segment power connections are also live (at
a specific voltage).
If you touch the power connections you may suffer an electric shock.
Stator segments for currents greater than 66 A have angled sockets with contact pins
for mating connectors for the power connection.
When these stator segments are delivered, the contact pins of the angled sockets have
protective covers that prevent the contact from being touched.
When the stator segment has been installed, and the mating connectors are inserted,
the contact pins are also protected so that they cannot be touched.
When the mating connectors are not inserted, the contact pins can be touched. There
is a risk of electric shock.
•
Only mount and remove electrical components if you have been qualified to do so.
•
Only work on the motor when the system is in a no-voltage condition.
•
Do not touch the power connections. Correctly connect the motor power connections
or properly insulate the cable connections.
•
Do not disconnect the power connection if the stator segment is under voltage (live).
•
When connecting up, only use power cables intended for the purpose.
•
First connect the protective conductor (PE).
•
Attach the shield through a large surface area.
•
First connect the power cable to the stator segment before you connect the power
cable to the converter.
•
First disconnect the connection to the converter before you disconnect the power
connection to the stator segment.
•
In the final step, disconnect the protective conductor (PE).
•
The following additional measures apply for stator segments with angled sockets for
currents higher than 66 A:
–
Remove the protective covers of the angled sockets only immediately before
connection of the power cables.
–
Mount the protective conductors (PE) of the stator segments before you connect
the power cables.
–
Ensure that the power cables of the mounted stator segments are correctly
connected before you switch on the drive system.
–
Plug the protective covers back into the angled sockets after you have
disconnected the power connection.
