Radial forces between a stator segment and rotor
The force of attraction F

on the air gap. The variable F

listed in the data sheets refers to the nominal air gap. The
following diagram shows the relative dependency of the force of attraction F

function of the air gap.

Radial forces increase exponentially
The stator and rotor can suddenly slam together if the distance between the stator and
rotor is too low.
•
When mounting and removing rotors, use the appropriate mounting equipment.
