Mounting stator segments
WARNING
Danger of severe crushing injuries (step 2)
As soon as the stator segment enters the magnetic field of the rotor segments, the
stator segment is very suddenly and quickly drawn towards the rear. There is significant
risk of crushing injury
•
Do NOT mount the stator segments by hand. Use suitable mounting equipment. At
any time during the mounting procedure, this mounting equipment must absolutely
ensure that the stator segment can be evenly and slowly inserted into the T-sliding
blocks.
A stator segment has 4 T-slots for mounting it.
Requirements
You require suitable assembly equipment.
You also require 1 mm thick spacer foil to protect the rotor segments from damage. You
will find a manufacturer recommendation for spacer foils in the annex.
Procedure
1.
Mount 2 T-sliding blocks and 2 extended T-sliding blocks into the mounting surface of
the machine as shown in the following diagram. The extended T-sliding blocks help to
correctly slide in the segments. This prevents the stator segments from being canted
when inserted.
