rAid mode setting
If you enable the RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) mode, when a system HDD is damaged you
can restore data safely. The NVR supports RAID level 5 and 6. RAID Level 5 supported by the NVR can work to
restore data for a single HDD only in case of failure of that HDD. RAID level 6 can restore data and operation of
up to two malfunctioning HDDs.
M
`
In this NVR, you can organize two RAID. The first RAID uses only the HDDs installed in HDD slot 1 to 6, and the second RAID
uses only the HDDs installed in HDD slot 7 to 12.
`
If the RAID has 5~6 HDDs installed, you can operate and organize it.
`
You can use RAID level 6 only if a single RAID has 6 HDDs mounted in it.
•
Status : Displays the operational status of the RAID.
- Active : Signals the fact that the RAID is operating normally.
- Build : User is in process of organizing a RAID and normal operation is ongoing.
- Degraded : It is displayed when the one or more HDDs that make up the RAID are malfunctioning. When
the maximum number of HDDs allowed in the RAID level are malfunctioning, if an additional HDD
malfunctions, you cannot use or restore the RAID.
Immediately, replace the HDD and proceed with restoration.
`
For more on how to replace the HDD and to restore the RAID, refer to "
Recovering RAID Array
". (Page 68)
- Rebuilding : It means that a RAID is being restored. When the maximum allowable number of HDDs in the
RAID are being rebuilt (due to malfunctioning), if an additional HDD malfunctions, you cannot use or restore
the RAID.
- Fail : This means that the RAID cannot be used or restored.
•
Status : Displays the current operating condition of the HDDs installed in a RAID.
- Active : Displays that the HDD is operating normally.
- Faulty : It displays that the HDD is malfunctioning. You need to immediately replace the HDD for smooth
recovery of the RAID.
- Removed : It displays that a HDD does not work and cannot be detected. You need to immediately replace
the HDD for smooth recovery of the RAID.
- Restore : Displays that a HDD is being recovered.
•
Capacity : It shows the total capacity of the HDDs that composes a RAID.
•
Temperature : You can check the temperature of HDD(s) that compose a RAID.
