The 1st sheet is not applied of any real-time corrections. Skew observed on this
sheet is the skew naturally generated from the system.
The 20th sheet is applied of real-time corrections on the assumption that the glass
scale is not skewed and is set perpendicular against the feed direction. However,
in reality, the glass scale is skewed. This is why, the skew is compared between
the 1st and 20th sheets.
Real-time registration adjustment corrects paper skews.
Sample scale reading (Silver linear scale 13005)
A: large pitch: 1.0 mm
B: small pitch: 0.5 mm
C: line width: 0.19 mm

Subtract the skew amount of the 1st sheet from the skew amount of the 20th sheet.
•
Make adjustments so that the skew amount of the 20th sheet matches that of
the first sheet.
•
If the calculated value in Step 5 is positive, the printed image is skewed to the
left at the trailing edge. If the value is positive, it is skewed to the right. (Also
see “Sample image correction” below.)

Enter the value obtained in Step 5 into SP1-086-027 (CIS Interval Adj
Value:SubScan).
7.
After completing all the adjustment, restore SP1-055 that you changed in Step 2 to its
original value.
8.
Verify that the desired results are obtained by repeating steps 3 ~ 5.
Skew should hardly be observed on the 20th page; XL – XT = close to 0
If unsatisfactory, readjust the value in SP1-086-027.
Note that this SP will not work unless the value in SP1-713-001~006 is “0.” If the
glass
scale is dirty, SP1-713-001~006 may display “1.”
