CompoNet Explicit Messages
You can send CompoNet explicit messages from the CompoNet Master Unit to the SmartSlice I/O Terminal to
read and write the parameters of the SmartSlice I/O Terminal.
The SmartSlice I/O Terminal executes the command from the CompoNet Master Unit and sends back a
response.
Sending Explicit Messages with FINS Commands
The CS/CJ-series CompoNet Master Units use FINS commands to send CompoNet explicit messages.
Refer to the
SYSMAC CS/CJ/CP Series and SYSMAC One NSJ Series Communications Command Reference
Manual
(Cat. No. W342) for information on FINS commands.
Flow of Messages
The CMND instruction sends the FINS commands. You use the CX-Programmer to enter the CMND instruc-
tion.
When the CMND instruction sends a FINS command from the CPU Unit to the CompoNet Master Unit, the
CompoNet Master Unit changes it into a CompoNet explicit message and sends it to the SmartSlice I/O Termi-
nal.
The CompoNet Master Unit also changes the response from the SmartSlice I/O Terminal from a CompoNet
explicit message to a FINS response and sends it to the CPU Unit.
FINS Formats
You use FINS command code 2802 hex to send CompoNet explicit messages.
