The NS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit comes ON in green but makes a
change to red after a short time.
OR
The NS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit comes ON in green but flashes
red after a short time.
Do a check of these items and then reset the CompoNet Communica-
tions Unit.
• Make sure that there is terminating resistance of 121
Ω
at each end of
the trunk line of the network. If terminating resistance is not connected,
connect 121
Ω
.
• Make sure that the settings for all Slaves are correct.
• Make sure that the connections of the communications cables are cor-
rect.
• Make sure that the connections and settings of the power supply cables
are correct.
• Make sure that there are no disconnections in the connections to the
connectors for the communications cables and power supply cables at
all nodes.
• If there are sources of noise in the area, do noise countermeasures for
the Master Unit, Slaves, and communications cables.
• If you are using an OMRON Master Unit and there is an error in the
Master Unit, refer to the
CS/CJ-series CompoNet Master Unit Opera-
tion Manual
(Cat. No. W456). If you are using a Master Unit from a dif-
ferent company, refer to the operation manual for the Master Unit.
• If the NS indicator comes ON in red on only one CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit, replace the Unit.
The NS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit goes OFF and stays OFF.
Do a check of these items and then reset the CompoNet Communica-
tions Unit.
• Make sure that the operation of the CompoNet Master Unit is correct. If
you are using an OMRON Master Unit, make sure the operating mode
and slave node addresses are correct. If you are using a Master Unit
from a different company, refer to the operation manual for the Master
Unit.
• Make sure that the connections of the connectors for all Slaves are cor-
rect.
• Make sure that the operation of the CompoNet Master Unit is correct. If
you are using an OMRON Master Unit, refer to the
CS/CJ-series Com-
poNet Master Unit Operation Manual
(Cat. No. W456). If you are using
a Master Unit from a different company, refer to the operation manual
for the Master Unit.
• Make sure that the connections of the communications cables are cor-
rect.
• Make sure that the connections and settings of the power supply cables
are correct.
• Make sure that there are no disconnections in the connections to the
connectors for the communications cables and power supply cables.
The NS indicator on the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit continues to flash.
• Make sure that the operation of the CompoNet Master Unit is correct. If
you are using an OMRON Master Unit, make sure the operating mode
and slave node addresses are correct. If you are using a Master Unit
from a different company, refer to the operation manual for the Master
Unit.
• Make sure that the Slave is in the Registration Table in the Master Unit.
If you are using an OMRON Master Unit, a new Slave will not join the
network if you add it when the Master Unit is operating with the Regis-
tration Table.
Clear the Registration Table, make sure that the new Slave is in the net-
work, and then create the Registration Table.
If you are using a Master Unit from a different company, refer to the
operation manual for the Master Unit for information on using the Regis-
tration Table.
• Make sure that the I/O areas of the Slaves are not more than the per-
mitted area for the Master Unit. If it is necessary, correct the node
addresses.
