DP Technical Information Guide
Quick Install Steps
(DLC/LLC Protocol)

Connect appropriate cabling from printer to network.

Print the Configuration Sheet. Details are in the section “Print the
Configuration Sheet” (page 2-11).

Insert the DP CD in your CD-ROM drive at the Windows NT
fileserver.

Use your mouse to double-click the Control Panel icon.

Double-click the Printers icon.

Click Printers from the Print Manager menu bar.

Select Create Printer from the drop-down menu using the mouse.
Then enter a unique printer name in the field provided.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Drivers area.

Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Other...

Click the OK button.

Scroll the list if necessary and select the desired Printer and click
OK.

When driver is installed, enter a description in the Create Printer
Description area.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Print to: area.

Scroll to the Other... entry.

Click on Hewlett-Packard Network Port in the Available Print
Monitors box and click OK.

Enter a unique name for the port to be used in the area provided.

Choose the Port Address from the list of ports, then click OK.

To share the printer, check the Share this printer check box on the
network.

Enter a Share Name and Location and click OK.
