Perform daily maintenance
When to do
Perform the following maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
Before you begin
Start up the print system (See Switch on and start up on page 44 ).
Procedure
1.
Clean the wiper roller compartments (See
Clean wiper roller compartments on page 196
).
2.
Print cleaning sheets. When the printed sheets are too dirty, repeat the Print cleaning sheets
procedure (See
Print cleaning sheets on page 178
).
3.
When the printed sheets have ink pollution on the back of the media, as illustrated in
Ink pollution
(lines) on the back of the media on page 276
or
Ink pollution (droplets) on the back of the media
on page 277 , repeat the Clean the wiper roller compartments procedure and the Clean the print
surface and the vacuum holes procedure (see
Clean wiper roller compartments on page 196
and
Clean the print surface and the vacuum holes on page 203
).
4. Check if the media output section of the printer shows clearly visible pollution. If yes, clean it (See
Clean the media output section of the printer on page 214 ).
5. When you use a stacker check if the media input section of the stacker shows clearly visible
pollution. If yes, clean it (see
Clean the media input section of the stacker on page 216 ).
6. When you use a folding device check if the media input section of the folding device shows
clearly visible pollution. If yes, clean it (see
Clean the media input section of the folding device on
page 218 ).
