5.10 Differentiation and integration function
This function performs differentiation, second-order differentiation, integration, and double integration of
the measurement data in the time domain. This is used when doing displacement–speed–acceleration
conversion in the measurement of transfer characteristics (gain-phase measurement).
Figure 5-26
Conversion among displacement, speed, and acceleration
by differentiation and integration
Differentiation in the time domain corresponds to multiplying the measurement data in the frequency
domain by jω and the second derivative corresponds to multiplication by (jω)
2
. Similarly, integration
corresponds to dividing the frequency domain measurement data by jω and the double integral corresponds
to division by (jω)
2
. The phase is changed by +90° by differentiation and by −90° by integration.
The setting is done by selecting

, pressing the

key, and then selecting the
calculation item. This function is set to
[OFF]
if integration and differentiation are not to be done.
■ Cautions concerning differentiation and integration
If differentiation and integration is enabled, the amplitude of CH2 is normalized to 1.0 (Vrms) for display.
The gain (CH1/CH2) and phase values can be used to produce corrected results, but please note that the
CH1 amplitude and the CH2 amplitude that are displayed differ from the measured amplitudes.
