5.4.3 Frequency change mode
The timing for changing the frequency during a sweep measurement and the timing for changing the
frequency when the frequency setting is changed can be selected as
[0° SYNC]
or
[ASYNC]
. The setting is
done with
【
Sweep
】
–
[STOP MODE]
.
[ASYNC]
: The frequency is changed immediately, regardless of the signal phase.
[0° SYNC]
: The frequency is not changed until the oscillator output signal reaches 0° phase. The
average voltage of the DC component from the beginning of the frequency sweep to the
end of the frequency sweep is zero.
Please note that it may take one cycle before the frequency actually changes, depending
on the timing of the frequency change. (For 10 µHz, it will take 10
5
s
≒
28 hours to
switch in the worst case.)

Frequency change mode and waveform change
The "0° SYNC
"
setting is used for measuring electrochemical impedance (EIS) and other such
measurements. The total amount of electricity injected to the DUT is the same before and after the sweep
measurement.
Please note that the actual frequency switching may deviate from the 0° phase if the oscillation frequency
exceeds about 100 kHz.
