The procedure described above completes the equalizing preparation. Performing a sweep measurement
produces measurement data that is corrected for error in probes, cables and other such parts of the
measurement system.
The correction data that has been copied to the equalizing memory is retained, even if the instrument power
is turned off. It is therefore available and ready for use the next time the power is turned on. However, this
function is executed as part of the error correction process for the instrument itself, so we recommend that
the equalizing correction data be measured again when the internal temperature of the instrument has
stabilized after the power is turned on (about 30 minutes) or when there has been a sudden change in the
ambient temperature, etc.
