The following is a network topology illustrating how a sensor functions within an access point
supported wireless network:
A radio in sensor mode supports three basic features:
Sensor support requires a Motorola AirDefense WIPS Server on the network. Sensor
functionality is not provided by the access point alone. The access point works in
conjunction with a dedicated WIPS server. For information on configuring an
