Controlled
Oscillator
(VCO)
Voltage
controlled
oscillator
(VCO)
uses
a
tone
generator
whose
frequency
depends
on
the
amplitude
of
the
input
signal.
The
oscillator
frequency
increases
with
increasingly
positive
signals.
It
is
often
used
for
intracellular
recordings,
e
.g.,
to
monitor
a
DC
signal
such
as
membrane
potential.
The
default
setting
for
the
VCO
is
2200
Hz
at
0
V
ranging
to
300
Hz
at
–100
mV.
In
the
previous
generation
of
Molecular
Devices
amplifiers,
VCO
was
called
tone
mode.
Audio
Signal
Select
from
the
list
boxes
the
output
signals
you
want
to
listen
to
with
the
audio
monitor.
You
can
listen
to
a
different
output
for
each
channel
in
each
mode.
Whether
you
hear
Channel
1
or
Channel
2
at
any
time
depends
on
which
tab
is
uppermost
on
the
front
panel.
If
a
Channel
1
tab
is
on
top,
the
Channel
1
output
is
audible,
while
Channel
2
output
is
audible
when
either
of
the
Channel
2
tabs
is
uppermost.
Options
/
Quick
Select
The
Quick
Select
tab
under
the
Options
tool
button
is
used
to
configure
the
Quick
Select
Buttons
on
the
toolbar.
Use
these
buttons
to
open
saved
configurations
files
(*.acc)
of
the
Axoclamp
900A
Commander,
or
to
start
an
executable
file
(*.exe).
To
set
a
Quick
Select
button
use
one
of
the
following
methods:
On
the
Quick
Select
tab,
type
the
file
‐
path
of
a
saved
configuration
(*.acc)
or
executable
(*.exe)
file
into
the
field
associated
with
the
Quick
Select
button
that
you
want
to
configure.
Closing
the
dialog
box
links
the
button
to
that
file.
