Scanner Type
Important : sending the <Zp> command (see “Save Scanner Type, SPS, and Gain for
Power-on” on page 4-12) will save the current setting for Scanner Type to NOVRAM.
Format: < KP density>
Example: Do not change the scanner density type unless instructed to do so by a
Microscan representative.
Scans per Second
Format: < KE scans per second>
Example: To set the scanner to 400 scans per second, send <KE40> .
Auto Gain Control
Important : Before saving any changes to Gain Adjustment (see “Save Scanner Type,
SPS, and Gain for Power-on” on page 4-12), first record the optimized factory setting
for future reference.
Format: < KD gain adjustment,AGC samplings>
Example: To set the gain threshold to 40 and the AGC status to Leading Edge, send
<KD40,1,0> .
Scanner Setup Status Request
Format: < KU ?>
Returns status of each command in the group.
scanner density type:*
0 = Standard
1 = High Density
* The “default” will depend on the type of scanner

scans per second (in 10 millisecond increments):
Any number from 30 to 55.
Default is
50 (500 sps) for Standard, 40 for Low and High Density.
gain adjustment:
Default is 45 (nominal).
Any number from 10 to 255.
AGC sampling:
0 = Disabled
1 = Leading Edge
2 = Continuous
