(4). Remove lamp base from mounting
housing.
NOTE:
On 369D model helicopters S/N. 003 -
944, electrical ground for lights is provided
by strap attachment to structure and one
lamp base attaching screw nutplates. On all
later helicopters a ground clip is provided.
(5). Disconnect electrical connector from
lamp base.
(6). Install new lamp in reverse order.
C. Position Light Inspection
(1). Inspect light assembly for security and
serviceable condition.
(2). As necessary, replace defective lamps.
D. Tail Position Light
The tail position light, mounted at the aft
center side of the horizontal stabilizer, is shock
mounted. The light is interconnected and
Operates simultaneously with side position
lights. Wiring to the light is routed through
the tailboom.

Ensure all electrical power is
OFF.
(1). Remove electrical connector.
(2). Remove ground lead.
(3). Pull light assembly aft while cutting it
free from sponge rubber cushion and
mounting fitting.
(4). Use scraper and naphtha (CM220) to
remove all sponge rubber from mount
ing fitting and light assembly.
(5). Apply coat of cement (CM418) to
mating surfaces of replacement rubber
cushion, light assembly and mount
fitting. Allow cement to air-dry for
approximately 15 minutes; then apply
second coat and assemble light and
sponge rubber cushion in mounting
fitting and allow curing time of approxi
mately four hours.
(6). Reconnect ground lead.
(7). Reinstall electrical connector.

NOTE:
Replacement of either left or right hori
zontal tail position lights is the same, per
form the following steps as required for the
faulty position light.
(1). Remove screws, lens retainer, lens, and
spacer from lamp base.
(2). Remove lamp from lamp base connec
tor.
NOTE:
If lamp is the only part requiring re
placement proceed to step (9). If lamp base
replacement is required continue with step
(3).
(3). Extract lamp base from horizontal
stabilizer far enough to gain access to
splices.
(4). Remove any shrink sleeving, vinyl
sleeving or clear vinyl tubing covering
splices.
NOTE:
Identify wires prior to removal of lamp
base to facilitate reinstallation.
(5). Disconnect splices and remove lamp
base.
(6). Install clear vinyl tubing (CM611) sized
to fit over splice once it is connected, on
each wire and slide up temporarily out
of the way to allow connection of
splices.
