(b). Field lamp should transition from
full ON to OFF smoothly over a
fraction of a volt range.
(5). Overvoltage Protection:
(a). Increase voltage to 32 volts; the 10
amp CB should trip. (This verifies
the crowbar circuit is working
properly.)
NOTE:
If the power supply is current limiting,
replace the circuit breaker with a toggle
switch. A current limit of 0.5 - 1.0 amp is
sufficient. Cycling the toggle switch should
reset the circuit.
15. Generator Control Unit Upgrade To
Eliminate Squat Switch
The following procedure is for upgrading from
the 369D24284-BSC GCU to the 369D24284-3
GCU that eliminates the Air/Ground (squat)
switch.
It is extremely important that
the following detailed informa
tion reflects the wiring in the helicopter.
(1). Replace P/N 369D24284-BSC GCU
with P/N 369D24284-3 GCU.
(2). With new GCU installed, verify type of
starter/generator installed in helicopter.
(3). Set GCU current limit switch to proper
(4). Remove squat switch and landing gear
switch clamp.
(5). Cap and stow the following wires using
HS4784-22 sealing plugs:
(a). W1304A22N at splice SP200 from
terminal 1.
(b). W1303A22 at splice SP201 from
terminal 3.
(6). Replace P/N 512TS1-1 auto-reignition
test switch with P/N MS35059-30 test
switch.
(7). Remove the following wires from
512TS1-1 switch:
(a). W1304B22 (white) from P1201-71.
(b). W1304B22 (blue) from P1201-72.
(c). Connect W1304B22 (white) and
W1304B22 (blue) together.
(d). Discard jumper between contacts 4
and 6.
(e). Remove W1305A22 from contact 3
and reroute to TB503-10M.
(f). Remove W1300A22 from contact 3
and reroute to TB503-10R.
(g). Remove J1075D22N from contact 2
(this wire will be installed on new
switch).
(8). Install the following wires on
MS35059-30 switch.
(a). Run new wire (W1307A22) from
TB503-10J to contact 3.
(b). Connect J1075D22N to contact 2.
(9). Replace P/N AP-1-3-50-051 generator
switch with P/N MS35059-22 generator
switch
(10). Remove the following wires from
AP-1-3-50-051 switch.
(a). Remove P1067D16 from contact 1
(this wire will be installed on new
switch).
(b). Remove P1068A16 from contact 2
(this wire will be installed on new
switch).
(c). Cap and stow P1069A22 from
P1201-44.
(11). Install the following wires on
MS35059-22 switch.
(a). Connect P1067D16 to contact 5.
(b). Connect P1068A16 to contact 4
(c). Run new wire (W1306B22) from
TB503-10P to contact 3.
(d). Run new wire (W1306A22N) from
E31-C to contact 2.
(12). Remove decal 369D26454-17, Gnd/
Flight, and relocate next to S11,
reignition test switch.
