1A-83 Engine General Information and Diagnosis: Bi-Fuel LPG model
Circuit Description
When the ignition switch is turned to ON position, the main relay turns ON (the contact point closes) and the main
power is supplied to ECM and LPG control module. And then LPG control module supplies 5 V power to LPG
pressure-and-temperature sensor.
Troubleshooting
NOTE
Before troubleshooting, perform following items.
• Be sure to confirm related fuses of LPG control module power circuit for not blown out.
If fuse is blown out, replace fuse(s) and check circuits connected to blown fuse(s) for short circuit to
ground.
• Confirm that battery voltage is 11 V or more.

1
Ignition signal check
1) Turn ignition switch to OFF position and then disconnect
connectors from LPG control module.
2) Turn ignition switch to ON position.
3) Measure ignition switch signal circuit (A1) voltage
between LPG control module connector and body
ground.
Is voltage 10 – 14 V?
Go to Step 2.
Ignition switch signal
circuit between battery
and LPG control module
is open and/or short
circuit.
2
LPG control module ground circuit check
1) Measure the following circuits resistance between LPG
control module connectors and vehicle body ground.
• LPG control module ground circuit 1 (D1)
• LPG control module ground circuit 2 (D2)
• LPG control module ground circuit 3 (D3)
Are resistance 1
Ω
or less?
Go to Step 3.
Repair or replace
defective wire harness.
3
Main relay and its circuit check
1) Check main relay and its circuit referring to “ECM Power
and Ground Circuit Check”: Bi-Fuel LPG model.
Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace
defective wire harness
and/or main relay.
4
LPG control module power supply circuit check
1) Turn ignition switch to OFF position and then remove
main relay from relay box.
2) Measure the following circuits resistance between main
relay and LPG control module connector.
• Main power supply circuit 1 (B1)
• Main power supply circuit 2 (B2)
Are resistance 1
Ω
or less?
Go to Step 5.
Repair or replace
defective wire harness.
