Engine Electrical Devices:  1C-2

HO2S Output Waveform Check

1) Check that HO2S signal is output properly.

• Petrol model: Reference “Inspection of ECM and 

Its Circuit: Petrol Model” in Section 1A in related 
manual mentioned in the Foreword of this manual. 

• Bi-Fuel LPG model: 

)

If faulty condition is found, check the following.
• Wire harness and connections
• Exhaust system leakage
If check results are satisfactory, replace HO2S. 

)

HO2S Heater and Its Circuit Check

1) Turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect 

HO2S connector.

2) Check that terminal voltage of HO2S connector 

(vehicle side) (1) between terminals “4” and “3” is 
battery voltage when ignition switch is in ON 
position.
If faulty condition is found, check power supply 
circuit, ground circuit for connections.

3) Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of HO2S 

heater between terminals “3” and “4” at sensor 
connector.
If faulty condition is found, replace HO2S.

NOTE
Sensor temperature of sensor affects 
resistance value largely. Make sure that 
sensor heater is at specified temperature.

CMP Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

1) Disconnect connector of CMP sensor with ignition 

switch turned OFF.

2) Turn ignition switch to ON position and check that 

voltage of CMP sensor connector (vehicle side) 
between terminals “1” and “2” is battery voltage.
If faulty condition is found, check power supply 
circuit, ground circuit and connections.

3) Check that CMP sensor signal is output properly.
