Engine General Information and Diagnosis: Bi-Fuel LPG model 1A-4
– For sensor where the output voltage of
related sensor is increase to the valve
travel, it displays 80% (= the ratio
between power supply voltage and
output voltage of related sensor).
– For sensor where the output voltage of
related sensor is decrease to the valve
travel, it displays 20% (= 100% minus the
ratio between power supply voltage and
output voltage of related sensor).
• For freeze frame data with asterisks (**), it
indicates by formula ((output voltage of
related sensor - output voltage of related
sensor at closed throttle position) / power
supply voltage).
When power supply voltage is 5.0 V and
output voltage of related sensor at closed
throttle position is 1.0 V, freeze frame data
is displayed the following.
– At closed throttle position (output
voltage of related sensor = 1.0 V), it
displays 0%.
– At wide open throttle position (output
voltage of related sensor = 4.0 V), it
displays 60%.
However, for sensor where the output
voltage of related sensor is decrease to
the valve travel, it displays 100% minus
formula ((output voltage of related
sensor - output voltage of related sensor
at closed throttle position) / power
supply voltage).
Freeze frame data (for example)
Freeze frame data clearance
The freeze frame data is cleared at the same time as
clearance of DTC.
System Readiness Test
The system readiness test is to check if the on-board
diagnosis of each system related to exhaust emission
has been completed or not using a scan tool (SUZUKI
SDT or CAN communication OBD generic scan tool).
When the conditions established for each system are
met, ECM performs an on-board diagnosis of
corresponding system and changes the status of system
readiness test from “Incomplete” to “Complete”.
NOTE
“Complete” will be displayed on scan tool for
all items as this vehicle does not have
system readiness test function.
LPG Control Module
General description
LPG control module in this vehicle has the following
functions.
• When the ignition switch is turned to ON position with
the engine stopped, LPG warning light (1) turns on for
2 sec. in order to check the LPG warning light (1) and
its circuit.
• When LPG control module detects a malfunction in
LPG control system for more than specified driving
cycles, it turns on or flashes LPG warning light in the
combination meter and stores the DTC in its memory.
(If it detects normal condition for continuously three
driving cycles after detecting a malfunction, it turns
OFF LPG warning light although DTC is stored in its
memory remains as a history DTC.)
• For some malfunctions, LPG control module adopts
the 2 D/C detecting logic to prevent erroneous
detection. With this logic, LPG warning light is turned
on when the malfunction is detected in 2 consecutive
driving cycles.
• When a malfunction is detected, engine and driving
conditions at that moment are stored in LPG control
module memory as freeze frame data.
For details, refer to description on “Freeze frame
data”: Bi-Fuel LPG model.
• LPG control module, ECM, combination meter and
DLC are connected through CAN line.
LPG control module some information can be
checked via DLC (3) by SUZUKI scan tool (2).
