Every 250 Hours or Annually
Complete the following maintenance tasks every 250 hours of operation or annually, whichever occurs first:
•
Change the engine oil and filter. For instructions, refer to
5.10.1 Changing Engine Oil, page 289

Change the engine primary air filter. For instructions, refer to
5.10.2 Maintaining Engine Air Filters, page 291
•
Check the wheel drive lubricant level. For instructions, refer to
5.10.3 Checking Wheel Drive Lubricant Level

•
Inspect the exhaust system. For instructions, refer to
5.10.5 Inspecting Exhaust System, page 297
•
Change the engine gearbox oil. For instructions, refer to
5.10.6 Changing Engine Gearbox Lubricant, page 298
5.10.1
Changing Engine Oil
The engine oil should be changed according to the interval specified in the windrower
’
s Maintenance Schedule. The oil
filter should be changed whenever the engine oil is changed.
Draining Engine Oil
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
NOTE:
The engine should be warm prior to changing the oil.
1.
Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
2.
Place a drain pan with a capacity of about 24 liters (6 U.S. gallons) under the engine oil drain.

Remove oil drain plug (A) and allow the oil to finish
draining.
4.
Replace drain plug (A).
5.
Check the condition of the used oil. If either of the
following is evident, have your Dealer correct the problem
before starting the engine:
•
Thin black oil indicates fuel dilution
•
Milky discoloration indicates coolant dilution
6.
Dispose of the used oil in a manner that complies with local
rules and regulations.
Replacing Engine Oil Filter
NOTE:
Replace the oil filter each time the engine oil is changed.
