Engine Compartment
Refer to this section for information on the maintenance and servicing of components in and around the windrower

engine compartment.
CAUTION
•
NEVER operate the engine in a closed building. Proper ventilation is required to prevent exhaust gas hazards.
•
Keep the engine clean. Straw and chaff on a hot engine, for example, present a fire hazard.
•
NEVER use gasoline, naphtha, or any other volatile material for cleaning purposes. These materials are toxic and/or
flammable.
5.3.1
Opening Hood
The hood will need to opened any time parts in the engine compartment require service.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
1.
Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.

Move latch (A) toward the right cab-forward side of the
windrower.

Grasp louver (B), and lift the hood to open it.

If the optional High Debris Cooler Intake kit (A) is installed, a
louver can still be used to open the hood.
