5.1.4 Electronic coarse feed wheel

The coarse motion serves for a fast horizontal
forwards movement of the specimen - towards
the knife - and backwards - away from the knife.
The rotation of the electronic coarse feed
wheel (
→
"Fig. 48- 1 ") can be set as clockwise or
counterclockwise to advance the object head.
• To set clockwise rotation to advance the object
head, switch the instrument on while holding
the slow-forward coarse feed button (
→
"Fig.
49- 1 ") on the separate control panel; three-digit
display indicates C for clockwise ( → "Fig. 49- 2 ") .
• To set counterclockwise rotation to advance
the object head, switch on the instrument and
press the slow-backward coarse feed button
( → "Fig. 49- 3 ") ; three-digit display indicates CC
for counterclockwise ( → "Fig. 49- 4 ") .
The settings of the electronic coarse feed wheel
rotation is shown for about 4 seconds on the
three-digit display when the instrument switches
on. The factory-set rotation direction of the
electronic coarse feed wheel is clockwise.
5.1.5 Fine directional specimen holder fixture
Tip
In the quick clamping system of the directional specimen holder fixture, all specimen clamps
available as optional accessories can be used.
