7.1
Error codes
When an instrument error occurs, an error code appears on the three-digit LED display. The table below
lists the error codes that may be displayed. Follow the instructions in the column of What to do.

displayed.
All setting values are
changed back to the
default values.
1.Press any button on the control
panel to confirm the error.
2.Check all setting values to see if
the previously entered values are
still correct. The values may have to
be reentered.
3.If the error code
E1
appears
repeatedly, call Leica Biosystems
service.
Error code
E2
is
displayed; a two-
second-long warning
beep is heard. The
instrument does
not response to any
operation, except the
emergency stop.
Object head feeding
driver may be in
malfunction.
1.Restart the instrument and check
if error code
E2
still exists.
2.If error code
E2
still exists, call
Leica Biosystems service.
Error code
E3
is
displayed; a two-
second-long warning
beep is heard. The
instrument does
not response to any
operation, except the
emergency stop.
Object head feeding/
retraction triggering
may be in malfunction.
1.Restart the instrument and check
if error code
E3
still exists.
2.If error code

E4
is
displayed; a two-
second-long warning
beep is heard. The
instrument does
